Navigator Studios is a boutique recording and production space designed for independent artists who want a comfortable, creative environment without the pressure or cost of a traditional commercial studio.
Our studio is located in the renovated basement of a residential home, carefully adapted for recording and mixing. While we don’t have some of the architectural features found in large commercial facilities—such as vaulted ceilings, angled walls, or expansive lounge areas—we focus on what matters most: great sound, thoughtful engineering, and a relaxed creative process.
Rather than flashy amenities, Navigator Studios emphasizes musicianship, experimentation, and collaboration.
Our Approach
Navigator Studios operates a little differently than many traditional recording studios.
We do not charge hourly rates. Instead, we talk with each artist about their project, estimate the time and resources needed, and provide a straightforward proposal. Because of this approach, projects often end up costing far less than typical studio sessions, and many elements of the process—setup, cleanup, and extra mixing attention—are done simply because we enjoy the craft.
Sessions are typically limited to around five hours, which helps keep performances fresh and productive.
We also strongly believe that mixing should be collaborative and flexible. Digital workflows allow for revisions, and we make sure clients have time to review and request adjustments. Final mixes are delivered once both the artist and studio feel the project has reached its best version.
Musical Focus
Navigator Studios has the most experience working with artists in:
- Indie Rock
- Blues
- Americana
- Singer-Songwriter projects
While we’re always open to new styles, our background and instincts tend to serve these genres best.
